The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 4,147 total cases, 374,908 of which are confirmed and 88,843 are probable. There are 6,002 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 5,269 being confirmed and 733 being probable. The case numbers are up by 4,147, and deaths are up by 62 since Thursday.
As of Friday Virginia has given a total of 424,857 COVID-19 vaccines. The table below gives more information about local vaccine distribution.
A total of 4,948,485 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Friday, there are 2,663 people currently being hospitalized, confirmed with COVID-19. There are 309 people receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are still pending. Combined, there are a total of 2,972 being hospitalized for coronavirus related illness. That's 39 less hospitalizations from Thursday.
The total statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations that have been reported over time is now 20,544.
509 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.
332 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 1,033 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 29,36 in the state - that's 35% usage.
36,577 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.
