VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - One local company known for its instant drug and alcohol testing is now using its services to test essential employees for COVID-19.
The company is called ARCpoint Labs which stands for accurate, reliable and confidential testing. News 3 reporter Samantha German spoke with the president of the company Rudy Patel and he says testing results for COVID-19 can come back in 30 minutes.
Because of those instant results, Patel says his phone has been ringing off the hook. Right now, he and his team are testing essential workers who are constantly around big groups everyday - like people who are in the restaurant or hotel industries and people who work in large offices.
Patel says ARCpoint is offering two types of the nasal swab COVID-19 tests along with antibody tests as well.
Patel says having the test results ready within 30 minutes is important, because it makes it much easier for big companies to not only monitor their staff but to ensure they are working in a safe environment.
“If somebody comes up sick next week, test them right away and put them out of the work pool. Send them home and let them recover for a couple of weeks. Test them again and bring them back,” explained Rudy Patel, President of ARCpoint Labs of Virginia Beach
