Virginia Beach coronavirus cases surpass 1K as Virginia reports over 471 additional cases

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 58,465 total cases, 55,949 of which are confirmed and 2,516 are probable. There are 1,620 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,517 being confirmed and 103 being probable. The case numbers are up by 471, and deaths are up by 9 since Sunday.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Monday, there are 550 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 298 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 240 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

132 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 653 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,968 in the state - that's 22% usage.

7,663 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Accomack 1,031 cases, 67 hospitalized, 14 deaths (+0 cases from Sunday)
  • Northampton 271 cases, 39 hospitalized, 28 deaths (+1 cases from Sunday)
  • Hampton 271 cases, 37 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+7 cases from Sunday)
  • Norfolk 746 cases, 91 hospitalized, 7 deaths (+9 cases from Sunday)
  • James City County 245 cases, 57 hospitalized, 15 deaths (+3 cases from Sunday)
  • Newport News 447 cases, 44 hospitalized, 10 deaths (+9 cases from Sunday)
  • Poquoson 16 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths (+0 cases from Sunday)
  • Williamsburg 54 cases, 11 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+0 cases from Sunday)
  • York County 101 cases, 10 hospitalized, 3 deaths (+2 cases from Sunday)
  • Portsmouth 419 cases, 62 hospitalized, 13 deaths (+13 cases from Sunday)
