The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 267,128 total cases, 232,940 of which are confirmed and 34,188 are probable. There are 4,281 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 3,894 being confirmed and 387 being probable. The case numbers are up by 4,398, and deaths are up by 21 since Tuesday.
A total of 3,573,299 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Wednesday, there are 1,653 people currently being hospitalized, confirmed with COVID-19. There are 382 people receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are still pending. Combined, there are a total of 2,035 being hospitalized for coronavirus related illness. That's 117 more hospitalizations from Tuesday.
The total statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations that have been reported over time is now 15,592.
436 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.
200 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 886 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,956 in the state - that's 30% usage.
25,862 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.
Percent of positive tests went up in Chesapeake (.7%) Hampton (.6%) Norfolk (1.3%) Peninsula (.6%) Portsmouth (1.6%) and Western Tidewater (.6%).
