Dog, cat dead following Gloucester house fire; one dog rescued

GLOUCESTER, Va. - Fire crews responded to a structure fire in the north end of the county around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, units found fire in the front of the home.

The fire was quickly contained and a dog was pulled from the structure and resuscitated by medics.

He was then taken the a local vet from treatment.

No one was at home at the time of the fire which claimed the life of another dog and a cat.

There were no other injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
