VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A Virginia Beach dog owner faces charges after their dog attacked another dog on the beach resulting in the dog's death.

On June 23, around 11:40 p.m., police responded to an incident regarding a dog that was being attacked on the beach by another dog at Lauderdale Avenue and the sand beach.

The investigation was turned over to Animal Control.

The victim's dog was taken by the owners to a local emergency clinic where it was humanely euthanized due to injuries sustained during the attack, officials say.

The attacking dog owner, 36-year-old Taryn N. Subeh, was charged with animals on the beach, failure to control 6-5E, fail to pay tax 5-305 (no city license), and vaccination or inoculation of a dog 5-200 (no rabies vaccine), and for a dangerous dog determination hearing.

Subeh appeared in court Monday.

The dog in question is being held at Virginia Beach Animal Control.

The case remains under investigation by Animal Control Officers Erica Lewis and Kelsey Davenport as the lead investigators.
