DUCK, N.C. - The Duck Fire Department responded to a house fire Saturday afternoon.
Crews responded to a fire located at 106 Bayberry Drive at 4:57p.m.
Crews were able to successfully keep the fire from spreading despite temperatures reaching nearly 101 degrees in Duck, according to officials.
All residents of the home were not home when the fire began, officials reports.
One support personnel and one firefighter were treated for heat related illness with one person being taken to a local hospital.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
