ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - An employee of Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools was potentially exposed to the novel coronavirus, according to a release by the school system.
According to the school system, ECPPS received notification that a staff member was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. The school system and Albemarle Regional Health Services determined that a quarantine was not necessary in this situation.
ECPPS said it is taking "every precautionary measure" to ensure the safety of its staff, with employees assigned to the facility not reporting until the facility is completely sterilized.
The school system also said that this employee was not involved in its meal services program, and that this program was not impacted by this report.
