ISLE OF WIGHT Co., Va. - The former Isle of Wight County Sheriffs Captain has been arrested.
50-year-old Julian Evans has been charged with one count of Rape, Intercourse with Victim Through Mental Incapacity/Helplessness, State Police said.
Court documents said the offense happened on August 19, 2019 and he was booked on Monday.
Evans was arrested and taken to the Western Tidewater Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond.
In September of 2019 News 3 told you about this investigation and reported that Evans was put on leave.
The Sussex County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office has been appointed to serve as a special prosecutor for this matter, State Police said.
