'Sunset to Moonrise’ kayaking tour taking place in Suffolk on October 2

SUFFOLK, Va. – Ready to hit the lake after dark?

Join Suffolk Parks & Recreation for a guided Sunset to Moonrise kayaking tour on Friday, October 2, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Lone Star Lakes Park, 401 Kings Highway.

The organizers ask that you meet at the Butler Tract parking lot. The program is $35 per boat and the fee includes a kayak, personal flotation devices, and paddles!

Advanced registration is required and can be done at this link, or at East Suffolk Recreation Center, 138 South 6th Street, and Whaleyville Recreation Center, 132 Robertson Street.

The registration deadline is Monday, September 28. Participants must be 18 years old or older and limited slots are available. The trip is weather-dependent.

Participant screening and social distancing procedures will be in place. A water bottle and headlamp are encouraged, but not required.
