VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – On Saturday, Relevant Church in Virginia Beach hosted “The Great Giveaway.”
Church members donated all kinds of items, including clothes, shoes and toys - and people at the event could take home things for free.
Pastors with the church spoke to News 3 about why this event was so important to host around the holidays.
"It is important to us especially right now because, one, it's the holiday season, but now it's the holiday season in the middle of a pandemic, where many families just don't have the means not only for Christmas, but for everyday supplies,” said James and Ginger Simpson, pastors at the church.

All the items that were collected and given away were either new or gently used.
