Hampton Police investigate robbery after 75-year-old man carjacked while checking mail

HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton Police is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in connection with a robbery/carjacking incident that occurred Saturday night.

At 7:28 p.m., officials received a call in reference to a carjacking that had just occurred in the 1st block of Mizzen Circle.

According to the investigation, a 75-year-old Hampton man, was checking his mail when he was approached by an unknown suspect. The suspect displayed a gun and demanded the vehicle.

The suspects fled the area in the Hampton man's dark blue 2019 Ford Escape with Virginia license plates, XPJ-1503. The vehicle was last seen in the direction of Silver Isles.

Police described the suspect as a Black man, 5'8", last seen wearing dark head covering, dark grey sweater, and blue jeans.
