HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - Now that the government will remain open through the weekend, you'll have a chance to see Santa flying through Hampton Roads this weekend and spreading some holiday cheer.

Santa is scheduled to fly through the region beginning at noon Saturday as part of a scheduled United States Navy training flight.

Navy Lieutenant Commander Carey Vincent will be taking to the sky in a MH60 Nighthawk to spread some holiday cheer to all the kids in the area.

The flight was scheduled weeks ago, but the Navy said if the government shuts down, Santa won’t be able to fly because it is not considered a mission-essential flight.

Thankfully, with President Trump signing H.J.Res. 107 after both chambers of Congress passed the bill late Friday night, you can see Santa take flight!
