NORFOLK, Va. - IKEA Norfolk made three donations to local organizations working to help with COVID-19 relief efforts in the Hampton Roads community.

The donations are apart of the $1.6 million worth of products and supplies that IKEA U.S. is set to give.

On Thursday, IKEA Norfolk gave to the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center, Hampton Roads Ecumenical Lodgings and Provisions (H.E.L.P.) and VB Home Now.

Mattresses, bedding, bath textiles, cookware, dressers, tables and chairs were some of the items donated.

“Our shelter provides comprehensive case management, access and connections to services and provides a safe place for families to say for up to four months to get back on their feet,” Matthew Stearn, Executive Director of H.E.L.P., said. “The mattresses and dressers will help us provide more than 7,000 nights of shelter to single mothers and their families, as well as single women dealing with homelessness.”

IKEA also donated to the American Red Cross, Feeding America and departments of health in states with high COVID-19 rates.
