VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - School is in session - it’s time for KJ’s Kids, where local students shine in STEM.

Meet 4th grader Meklit Jiru from Parkway Elementary. Meklit took a class project to the next level with a weather broadcast. The aspiring meteorologist and doctor used a video filter to give a lesson on the types of clouds.

On our Zoom call, Meklit was showed how enthusiastic she was about STEM and how cool it was for her classmates to see her finished project. Added to that, Meklit said it only took her 15 minutes to develop four different clouds.

“And I made them with some things in my house that I found,” said Meklit.

Here's a list of the items:

  1. Paper
  2. Cotton
  3. Glue
  4. Cardboard
  5. Push pins
