HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - As the year 2020 came to an end, local hospitals helped deliver the area's first babies of 2021.
The first baby was born at 12:08 a.m. at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk. Pictured in the photos below are parents Hannah Blevin and Rose Merriman with baby Adalynn.
Shortly after, a baby boy greeted the New Year with his arrival at 12:20 a.m. on at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center’s BirthPlace. Cayden J. Parker weighs six pounds and fifteen ounces.
In Newport News, baby girl Jiraiya was welcomed into the world at 5:26 a.m. by her parents Janisha Bartlett and Derrick Harris, Jr. at Riverside Regional Medical Center. She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 19 inches long.
Congratulations to each family on the birth of their child.
