Man calls Portsmouth Police after being shot, crashing into Children’s Museum

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the 200 block of High Street on Tuesday night.

Around 1 a.m., the Emergency Communication Center was called about an incident.

An adult male told dispatch that he was driving with a gunshot wound to his torso. Officers located the victim and his vehicle on High Street, where he crashed his vehicle into the Children’s Museum.

He was then taken to a local hospital. Police said it appeared that he sustained his non-life threatening wound near the 700 block of King Street.

There is no suspect information at this time.

There were two shootings in Portsmouth Tuesday night. This incident came a few hours after a man walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound.
