Man walks into hospital with gunshot wound in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Detectives are investigating a shooting incident that happened Tuesday night.

Around 11 p.m., the Emergency Communication Center was notified about a walk-in gunshot wound victim at a local hospital.

Police said the victim was a man who sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the torso. The man said the shooting happened near the 3800 block of George Washington Highway.

There is no suspect information at this time.

There were two shootings in Portsmouth Tuesday night. This incident came a few hours before a man called Portsmouth Police after being shot and crashing into the Children’s Museum.
