WASHINGTON - A man in the nation's capital sheltered about 70 protesters in his home all night after they got caught after curfew between lines of police.
Rahul Dubey told WJLA-TV that he was sitting on his porch around 8:30 p.m. Monday when law enforcement officers set up a holding area to corral protesters on his street.
He said that once officers started pushing people on the ground and releasing pepper-spray, it was like a "human tsunami” as protesters ran for cover into his home.
The protesters left when the curfew ended at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
