Man shot by Suffolk Police arrested on charges including assault, shooting at police vehicle

SUFFOLK, Va. - A man shot by Suffolk Police in September 2020 was arrested following direct indictment on a total of 19 charges.

Andrew Brock Jr., a 30-year-old Windsor man, is charged with six counts of shooting or throwing missiles at an occupied vehicle, three counts of assault and battery on a police officer, obstructing justice, two counts of destruction of property, three counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony, three counts of attempting to commit a capital offense and tampering with or destroying a fire protection system as a prisoner.

Brock was initially arrested September 17, 2020, after officers shot him September 16 while attempting to serve a warrant out of Smithfield on him. He was also accused of shooting at a Suffolk Police officer's marked vehicle three times on September 15.

Brock remains in custody at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
