NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – If you live near Fort Eustis and hear what sounds like gunshots Friday morning, base officials say not to be alarmed.
Fort Eustis is scheduled to conduct simulated machine gun fire in designated training areas starting at 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5.
Base officials say the simulated machine gun fire could produce loud noise in communities on and around Fort Eustis.
This training will not impact the installation’s entry points or customer service areas.
