Newport News Police investigate shooting after 15-year-old injured

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Newport News Police are investigating a shooting that left a 15-year-old boy with injuries.

Officials say they received a call at 2:47 p.m., of someone who was shot in the 900 block of Forest Lake Court.

When officers arrived they found a 15-year-old male suffering from police say is believed to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

There is no detailed suspect information at this time and police say the investigation remains ongoing.
