NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk City Council has voted to suspend the relationship with a sister Russin city amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
During Tuesday's session, the city council passed the resolution requesting that the Norfolk Sister City Association suspend its relationship with Kaliningrad due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
This resolution comes after Norfolk's mayor called for an end.
Ties will be suspended until peace and sovereignty is restored in Ukraine, according to the resolution.
