Norfolk man charged in August 2020 shooting that left 5 people, including 1-month-old, injured

NORFOLK, Va. - A man was charged Wednesday in connection with a shooting over the summer that left four adults injured and a 1-month-old in critical condition.

According to police, 20-year-old Kimahni L. Lankford was charged with five counts of malicious wounding and five counts of use of a firearm.

The shooting happened August 25, 2020 around 10:15 p.m. Police responded to the 800 block of E. Princess Anne Road for a report of multiple gunshot victims, and arrived to find three men, a woman and a 1-month-old girl suffering from gunshot wounds.

The four adults were all taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment. The infant was taken to The Children Hospital of the King’s Daughters with life-threatening injuries.

Lankford was already being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond, police said. He will continue to be held without bond for the additional charges.

Detectives have not released the motive or circumstances surrounding this deadly incident.
