NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Tides announced the creation of a virtual concert series featuring local artists.

The "Jack Up the volume Concert Series," will be presented by local marine hydraulic company HyVal Industries, Inc.

The eight-week virtual concert series will feature local musicians performing a variety of different genres.

The series kicked off Friday night with an appearance by Williamsburg-based Sammy Lee & Paul Todd.

Iota Creative Collective, a local company that seeks to provide access to quality technology and creative industry know-how so local creatives can pursue their craft independently, partnered with the Tides for the concert series.

The full schedule of projected artists is:
May 22: Sammy Lee & Paul Todd (Williamsburg)
May 29: Nathan Lienard (York County)
June 5: Red Stapler (Virginia Beach)
June 12: Jason Cale (Hampton)
June 19: Hoot N Annie (New Kent)
June 26 - July 10: Acts to be announced

“We’re excited to offer local artists a platform to share some of their phenomenal music” said Tides General Manager Joe Gregory. “This area is full of so many talented musicians, and we hope this weekly series can provide a brief escape for fans who are looking to add some entertainment at the end of their week. We’re thankful that our friends at HyVal Industries partnered with us to present this exciting opportunity.”

Jack Up The Volume Concert Series will be featured each Friday night at 7 p.m. on the Tide's Facebook page.

The concert will air live from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with fans able to re-watch the performance again once it concludes.
