NORFOLK, Va. - The City of Norfolk announced that bulk and yard waste collections will resume starting May 11, which was stopped previously due to coronavirus.

City officials say Waste Management has retrofitted trucks and revised methods to allow employees to collect yard and bulk waste safely.

Yard waste collection will be picked up on resident’s normal collection date. Residents with more than 20 bags must schedule a bulk waste pickup.

To schedule a bulk waste pickup, residents must use the #MyNorfolk online portal, mobile app or call Norfolk Cares at 664-6510. Residents who set out bulk waste that has not been scheduled may receive a notice of violation.

Officials say any scheduled pickups not collected, will be picked up the following week and to remove items from the curb that were not collected if possible.
