North Carolina reports 1,629 new coronavirus cases; Hertford County sees highest local case increase

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving coronavirus cases within the state.

As of Tuesday, there are now 126,532 cases, 1,166 people hospitalized and 2,010 coronavirus related deaths.

That is 1,629 new cases and 28 additional deaths from Monday.

23 new cases were confirmed in Northeastern North Carolina.

A total of 1,854,026 total coronavirus tests have been completed in North Carolina.

Here's the breakdown of confirmed cases in local areas:

  • Bertie County 254 cases, 5 deaths (+5 cases from Monday)
  • Camden County 63 cases, 2 deaths (+0 cases from Monday)
  • Chowan County 145 cases, 1 death (+1 case from Monday)
  • Currituck County 71 cases, 0 deaths (+1 case from Monday)
  • Dare County 202 cases, 2 deaths (+0 cases from Monday)
  • Gates County 45 cases, 2 deaths (+0 cases from Monday)
  • Hertford County 307 cases, 11 deaths (+12 cases from Monday)
  • Northampton County 280 cases, 16 deaths (+1 case from Monday)
  • Pasquotank County 360 cases, 17 deaths (+1 case from Monday)
  • Perquimans County 73 cases, 2 deaths (+2 cases from Monday)
