The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving coronavirus cases within the state.
As of Thursday, there are now 79,349 cases, 1,034 people hospitalized and 1,461 coronavirus related deaths.
That is 2,039 new cases and 20 additional deaths from Wednesday.
A total of 1,121,811 total coronavirus tests have been completed in North Carolina.
