CHINCOTEAGUE ISLAND, Va. - An investigation is underway after a woman's body was found on the southern end of Chincoteague Island on Thursday.
The Chincoteague Police Department says the body was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Norfolk for identification and further investigation.
The Accomack County Sheriff's Office, the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the Virginia State Police Search and Rescue Team assisted Chincoteague Police in the investigation.
