Police searching for man in connection with armed robbery of Hampton Walgreens

HAMPTON, Va. — Investigators with the Hampton Police Division have identified a man in connection with the armed robbery of a local Walgreens last month.

On Friday, authorities announced that 26-year-old Victor Collin Sims Jr. of Hampton has warrants on file for Robbery, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and Wearing a Mask in Public.

Police say on the morning of January 6, dispatchers received a call of a robbery that had just happened at the store located in the 3300 block of W. Mercury Boulevard.

An investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store with a gun and demanded prescription medication. After receiving an undisclosed amount of medication, he fled on foot.

The suspect was originally described as a black male who was wearing a brown Afro-style wig, blue jeans, a black jacket and a surgical mask.
