Police seeking information about May shooting at Suffolk venue

SUFFOLK, Va. - The Suffolk Police Department is asking for the public's help with information about a shooting that happened at a local venue in late May.

At 11:48 p.m. on Monday, May 24, dispatchers received a call in reference to a shooting that had happened in the parking lot of Renee's Celebration Center in the 100 block of E. Washington Street.

After a preliminary investigation, police determined that a woman had been shot in the lower torso and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. A man was charged with a weapons violation and was cooperative during the investigation.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and following any leads provided.
