PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Portsmouth Police have arrested a man wanted for the murder of a 48-year-old Chesapeake man.
Police say 27-year-old Jevon M. Scottwas taken into custody Monday and is being charged with second-degree murder for the death of 48-year-old Dornell Chavous.
Detectives say on June 11 around 6:47 a.m., they received a call regarding a shooting in the 1100 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue.
48-year-old Dornell Chavous was pronounced dead on scene after being shot in the torso, according to police.
