HAMPTON, Va. - Students at NBA legend Allen Iverson's alma mater, Bethel High School, got a big surprise Wednesday!

Reebok announced they will be covering all college application costs to celebrate the new "Origins Pack." The pack features new signature Allen Iverson sneakers.

Reebok is covering college application costs for the rising senior class of 2021, which is about 400 students.

Reebok said Iverson credits his high school to college journey as putting him on the path to reaching incredible heights in sport and culture. When they came up with the Origins Pack, they understood that the best way to celebrate this moment in Iverson’s life was to give a new generation the opportunity to change the game, just as Iverson did.

“Nothing should limit you from applying to any school you want to consider,” said Iverson. “By working with Reebok to cover the application costs of rising seniors at Bethel High, I want the next generation of game changers to see college as a route to success, whether they want to be an artist or a doctor.”

On Wednesday morning, students were surprised with a video from Iverson announcing the gift, which also includes students getting Reebok shoes.

In addition to the Bethel High School announcement, Reebok said they will give select students nationwide the same opportunity to have their college application fees covered. Starting today, rising seniors can apply at Reebok.com by submitting 200 words or less on how the coverage of their college applications will enable them to reach their full potential and aspirations.

Reebok said at the center of this announcement is the new Origins Pack. Featuring the Answer V and Question Mid, Reebok’s archival basketball silhouettes have been reimagined to serve as a heartfelt tribute to Iverson’s alma mater.
