NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. - Remains were found in a vehicle belonging to a missing person Wednesday afternoon.
The New Kent Sheriff’s Office received a report of the discovery of a vehicle found in a wooded area off Henpeck Rd. in Quinton.
The vehicle was discovered by two hunters around 11:00 a.m.
Deputies located the vehicle, which was registered to Joan Marie Orr, who had been reported missing on February 15 by her family.
Orr had last been seen by her family in the area of the 8900 block of Tunstall Rd.
The remains of an individual were found in the vehicle upon investigation. The remains were taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond for further examination and positive identification.
Police say foul play is not suspected in this case at this time.
