ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. - Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office charged a man in connection to allegedly using a device to solicit sexual acts from a child.
According to police, 38-year-old Chad Callahan, of Smithfield, was arrested and charged in connection to the use of a communication device to solicit a sexual act from a child.
Callahan was arrested following an investigation by sheriff’s office investigators.
The investigation began after the Isle of Wight County Department of Social Services was made aware of communications received by a child, according to officials.
Investigators executed a search warrant at the home of Callahan and arrested him on felony warrants.
Callahan was charged with use of a communication device for the purpose of soliciting a sex act by a minor and taking indecent liberties with children.
Callahan was sent to the Western Tidewater Regional Jail and was later issued a $10,000 secured bond.
