SUFFOLK, Va. - Suffolk Fire & Rescue crews are working a large brush fire in the 7700 block of Crittenden Road Wednesday afternoon.
Dispatchers were notified about a fire involving a large section of bulldozed trees and debris in a remote area at 1:16 p.m. The first units arrived on scene at 1:32 p.m.
As of 4:45 p.m., multiple Suffolk Fire & Rescue units and tankers are still on scene, in addition to mutual aid assistance provided by several neighboring jurisdictions. Crews from the Virginia Department of Forestry are also on scene.
The remote location is surrounded by open land, and there is no danger of any impact to any residences in the area.
