Suffolk man charged with involuntary manslaughter for fatal February crash

SUFFOLK, Va. - A 55-year-old man has been charged in connection to a fatal crash that took place in February.

Rodney Edwards has been charged with involuntary manslaughter(F), a DUI (M), and DUI-involuntary manslaughter or endanger w/ revok license(F) related to the crash on February 29, following a direct indictment by grand jury.

Officials say the crash happened around 1:40 p.m., in the 4000 block of Godwin Boulevard. 60-year-old Walter J. Sculthorpe was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to the hospital for serious injuries.
