SUFFOLK, Va. - Suffolk Police opened an investigation after a child abduction was reported.
Emergency Communications was first contacted around 3:15 p.m., Thursday.
The report said a child abduction allegedly happened in the 400 block of Market Street. Officers immediately began canvassing the area and searching for the 3-year-old female.
Following the investigation, Suffolk Police stated that the incident was 'unfounded'. There is no evidence that an abduction had occurred, according to their findings.
Police say the child was found safe at a relative’s house.
Child Protective Services was notified of the incident. No further information is available for release
