Suffolk Police investigating armed robbery at gas station

SUFFOLK, Va. - The Suffolk Police Department is investigating after an armed robbery at the Murphy Oil Gas Station on North Main Street Sunday morning.

According to police, the call came in at 6:26 a.m. for the robbery. When police arrived at the business, located in the 1200 block of North Main Street, they learned that a subject entered the outside shopping area, displayed a handgun to the clerk inside and demanded money and cigarettes.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male wearing a green jacket, blue hoodie, black jeans and black shoes. He had his face covered with a scarf or mask, and appeared to have a scar on the outside of his right wrist.

No injuries were reported, police said, and the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise.
