Teen arrested after woman shot while inside Virginia Beach home

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - An arrest has been made in a shooting that left one woman injured ​Monday.

On February 22, police responded to a shooting in the 800 block of Maitland Drive.

When officers arrived to the home they located a woman suffering from a non-life threatening injury from an apparent gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital by EMS for treatment.

As detectives investigated they found evidence that led to the identification of possible suspects in this shooting.

On Tuesday, Virginia Beach Police Departments SWAT team served a search warrant in the 1700 block of Pathfinder Drive and recovered additional evidence related to this case.

A teen has been arrested and is being charged with malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Police also responded to another shooting on Pathfinder Dr. around 4:49 a.m., shortly before the shooting on Maitland. Police have not released further details in regards to that incident.
