VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Crews responded to a second-alarm fire that left three people in need of housing assistance on Sunday.

Around 5:51 p.m., , the Virginia Beach Fire Department responded to a multifamily fire in the 2200 block of East Berrie Circle located in the Chesapeake Beach section of the city.

Reports say that units were on scene within four minutes, reported having smoke and fire showing and requested a second-alarm assignment. An exterior fire attack began immediately, using a 2 ½” hose line to knock the bulk of the fire down.

Officials say the fire was marked under control at 6:12 p.m. Three individuals will need housing assistance.

No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
