NORFOLK, Va. - The Virginia State Police is investigating two vehicle crashes at the entrance to the westbound tube of the Downtown Tunnel.
Reports say the first crash being worked involves a tractor trailer and two SUVs. The tractor trailer is currently wedged inside the tube, troopers say.
The driver and two children passengers of a gold SUV were transported with non-life threatening injuries. The second crash being worked also involves two SUVs with no injuries.
The secondary crash was a result of traffic coming to an emergency stop after the tractor trailer became stuck, reports say.
The westbound tube will remain closed for a currently undetermined amount of time.
