Two men injured after shots fired during fight in Suffolk; police investigating

SUFFOLK, Va. - The Suffolk Police Department is investigating a shooting incident in the 400 block of Wilson Street that left two men injured Monday afternoon.

Around 2:45 p.m., a caller notified dispatchers that multiple people were fighting in the area of Wilson Street and Wellons Street and that shots were fired.

A preliminary investigation revealed that two men were shot during the incident and were both given emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel.

Police say one of the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the other man's injuries are said to be serious. Medics took both men to local hospitals via ground transportation for further treatment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
