VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Beach Fire Department says two people and two pets are displaced after their residence caught fire on Friday night.

According to a Facebook post by the department, firefighters responded to the 4900 block of Aquarius Court, located in the Indian Lakes section of the city, around 7 p.m.

They say when crews arrived they saw heavy smoke coming from inside of the home. Firefighters then made an interior attack, bringing the fire under control at 7:18 p.m. and marking it "out" at 7:24 p.m.

Two pets were removed and were placed on oxygen and appear well, fire official say. They also report that the two residents don't require any assistance at this time, but have been displaced.

No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
