CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Chesapeake Police is investigating a fatal incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Police say the incident happened around 1:10 a.m., in the 4700 block of W Military Highway.
According to police, the driver says she and her daughter did not see anything until after they realized they hit something and discovered a man laying on the ground.
39-year-old Jeremy R. Mitchell was pronounced dead, according to police.
Police say drugs or alcohol was not a factor in the incident and say they are still investigating.
