VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Despite the Virginia Aquarium being temporarily closed due to coronavirus, the aquarium is still properly caring for the animals and the community.
The Virginia Aquarium has online community resources available for teachers, parents, and students.
Resources include virtual lessons and supplemental materials, sorted by every grade and age. The aquarium says they will continuously add resources to the website.
Due to the closures of the aquarium, there is no source of revenue to offset animal care expenses.
The Virginia Aquarium is a non-profit organization that relies on ticket sales, visits, memberships, education program fees, and gifts to remain open.
The aquarium is accepting all donations to help keep the animals and community safe.
