VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Beach Health Department previously issued swimming and wading advisories for the City’s Lesner Bridge East beach from Starfish Road to Rockbridge Road.

Water testing revealed enterococci bacteria levels at this location exceeded state water quality standards.

On Thursday officials said the advisory has been lifted.

Signs were posted at the beaches alerting the public of the advisory.

Recreational waters are monitored for bacteria routinely during the summer swimming season, using indicator organisms such as enterococci, the indicator of choice for estuarine and marine waters.
