Virginia reports 791 additional coronavirus related cases, 17 new deaths

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 45,398 total cases, 43,247 of which are confirmed and 2,151 are probable. There are 1,392 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,282 being confirmed and 110 being probable. The case numbers are up by 791, and deaths are up by 17 since Sunday.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Monday, there are 1,371 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 419 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 347 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

188 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 631 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,984 in the state - that's 21% usage.

5,899 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Northampton 241 cases, 28 hospitalized, 23 deaths
  • Hampton 210 cases, 30 hospitalized, 3 deaths
  • Norfolk 521 cases, 69 hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • James City County 206 cases, 54 hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • Newport News 282 cases, 40 hospitalized, 10 deaths
  • Poquoson 8 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths
  • Williamsburg 44 cases, 10 hospitalized, 4 deaths
  • York County 77 cases, 9 hospitalized, 3 deaths
  • Portsmouth 313 cases, 44 hospitalized, 11 deaths
  • Gloucester 31 cases, 8 hospitalized, 1 death
  • Virginia Beach 745 cases, 94 hospitalized, 23 deaths
  • Franklin City 42 cases, 3 hospitalized, 2 deaths
