Virginia Natural Gas to hold drive-thru food drive

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Virginia Natural Gas will host a drive-thru food drive to assist the Eastern Shore and the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank.

On Thursday, the food drive will be held at two separate VNG locations in Virginia Beach and Newport News:
· Virginia Beach: 544 S. Independence Blvd. (9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.)
· Newport News: 746 Diligence Dr. (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Those taking part are asked to wear a face covering for their safety and the safety of the employee volunteers.

VNG is also asking that donations be placed in the trunks of vehicles, where one of the volunteers will gather the donations.

Non-perishable food items such as peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, fruit juice, pasta sauce, and boxed meals are accepted. Donations of cereal, pasta, oatmeal and rice, as well as baby products and personal hygiene items will also be accepted.

The food drive will be held in conjunction with Red Nose Day, an annual campaign to bring awareness to child food insecurity.
