Virginia reports daily rise of 639 coronavirus cases, bringing state total to 65,748

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 65,748 total cases, 62,981 of which are confirmed and 2,767 are probable. There are 1,853 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,746 being confirmed and 107 being probable. The case numbers are up by 639, and deaths are up by 4 since Saturday.

A total of 706,588 people in Virginia have now been tested.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Sunday, there are 546 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 246 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 202 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

95 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 634 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 3,000 in the state - that's 21% usage.

8,784 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Chesapeake 1,015 cases, 147 hospitalized, 21 deaths (+12 cases from Saturday)
  • Accomack 1,044 cases, 72 hospitalized, 14 deaths (+1 case from Saturday)
  • Northampton 271 cases, 41 hospitalized, 28 deaths (+1 case from Saturday)
  • Hampton 369 cases, 41 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+9 cases from Saturday)
  • Norfolk 1,072 cases, 114 hospitalized, 12 deaths (+5 cases from Saturday)
  • James City County 293 cases, 58 hospitalized, 15 deaths (+14 cases from Saturday)
  • Newport News 584 cases, 45 hospitalized, 10 deaths (+16 cases from Saturday)
  • Poquoson 19 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths (+0 cases from Saturday)
  • Williamsburg 72 cases, 12 hospitalized, 6 deaths (+8 cases from Saturday)
  • York County 129 cases, 10 hospitalized, 3 deaths (+5 cases from Saturday)
  • Portsmouth 549 cases, 73 hospitalized, 18 deaths (+10 cases from Saturday)
  • Gloucester 50 cases, 9 hospitalized, 1 deaths (+1 case from Saturday)
  • Virginia Beach 1,350 cases, 123 hospitalized, 30 deaths (+50 cases from Saturday)
  • Franklin City 54 cases, 4 hospitalized, 2 deaths (+1 case from Saturday)
